Skip to navigation

Something I've noticed a lot of people doing lately is including a "skip to navigation" link at the top of their pages. Now I know this is for screenreaders but I guess I hadn't really thought about it too deeply. This article by Dave Child gives you the low down. Specifically it talks about how a "skip to navigation" link isn't really the best option and a "skip to content" link is better. I definitely agree as this leaves your pages SE friendly but still avoids people with screenreaders having to hear your navigation read out on every page. 05 December 2005
