Accessibility and forms

I found this article on how to create accessible forms a really useful reference. The only problem I now have with creating forms is that the fieldset tag requires a legend tag within it to validate and you can't style that damn legend tag properly! I always end up adding it in there and then hiding it from the browser. Surely there is a better way?
